Ten Albums: From The Kick Inside to 50 Words for Snow
Between 1978 and 2011 I made ten studio albums. Here they are in order, with a line on each, so you can find the era behind the design you're looking at.
Which albums came first?
- The Kick Inside (1978): my debut, with "Wuthering Heights". It reached number 3 in the UK.
- Lionheart (1978): my second album, out the same year.
- Never for Ever (1980): my first UK number one album.
- The Dreaming (1982): the fourth record.
What about the middle years?
- Hounds of Love (1985): a UK number one, with "Running Up That Hill" and "Cloudbusting".
- The Sensual World (1989): the album that closed the eighties.
- The Red Shoes (1993): the last record before a long gap.
And after the gap?
Twelve years passed between The Red Shoes and the next album.
- Aerial (2005): the return.
- Director's Cut (2011): the ninth album.
- 50 Words for Snow (2011): the tenth, released the same year.
How do the albums show up in the merch?
A few tips for picking a design by era:
- Go by the song: the Cloudbusting design names the song from Hounds of Love in big letters over a red and violet sky.
- Go by the image: red ballet shoes, a black-and-white portrait and engraved line art work on their own, without words.
- Go by the name: blackletter KATE BUSH type sits under an illustrated warrior with a sword and a sun shield.
Every design comes on a tee, a long sleeve, a crewneck and a hoodie, with kids' and youth sizes too.
